valentine’s day tea party

Hello fellow crafties! I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day!

We spent a nice day out together as a family having lunch (because dinner out with a child whose nickname is “Mayhem” would probably not be the best of ideas haha). Then we brought the girls home and celebrated with a Valentine’s Day Tea Party!

My oldest absolutely adores a tea party (as does her mama), so in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day we actually spent our evenings crafting little decorations for our party. We crafted a garland to hang up, a fun table runner out of assorted sizes of paper doilies, and also tried our hand at making our own tea bags from this awesome tutorial I found here. The tea cozy I made last week even made an appearance, and did a fantastic job at keeping the tea pot warm!

Since it was Valentine’s Day, we decided to keep the menu to sweets and tea only, and I even attempted to bake some cupcakes and a cake (FYI: I’m an *awful* baker). To compensate for my less than stellar baking abilities, I also picked up a few sweets from Publix (I couldn’t resist the petit fours), and some M&M’s and fruit for my littles. It turned out super fun and made for a really enjoyable (and sugar-loaded) afternoon.

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day as well!

xo
